DIY fashion | Ellery inspired top

One of the nice things about being able to sew your own clothes is that it can save you some coin. If you put some effort into it, you can copy your favorite runway looks for a fraction of the price. And so I created this top inspired by the Lolita top from the 2014 fall collection of the Australian brand Ellery.

To create this top I used Burda pattern 11/2013 #124/125, which I’d also used for the crop top with lantern sleeves. The fabric is a plain white cotton.

Pattern adjustments:

  • Patroon ingekort tot de gewenste lengte.
  • Wijd uitlopende mouwen gemaakt met de slash and spread techniek.
  • V-hals toegevoegd.
  • Een paneel langs de coupenaad van het voorpand uitgeknipt, en met de slash and spread techniek uitgewaaierd tot een halve cirkel.

If you’re thinking: “Slash and spread? What is she talking about?!” Don’t panic, I will be posting a tutorial on how to draft the pattern for this top soon!
